Here are my photos of National and California State Parks, the outdoors, and Cruise pictures. Page 2 has flowers, animals, ships,
other trips, and all sort of other photos.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did when I was taking them. Obviously there are some things I am better at photographing - the
great outdoors, flowers, ships.... Sadly I'm not so good at taking people pictures so there aren't as many of those. If you do enjoy any
particular picture, you can leave a comment.
I decided to try to put a small set (only 100 photographs) of my favorite pictures together and write about why I like these particular
pictures. Sometimes it will be because of the photgraphic elements, sometimes, it is for personal meanings/reasons. As of February 2007, it
is under construction, but if you would like to check it out, here it is - My Favorite Photographs.

too and there are so many of them relatively close by. It makes them easy to visit. Plus they

Red Tailed Hawk, January 2010 |
January 29th, 2010 |
This Red Tailed Hawk was
sitting on the trees below our house. My wife took these pictures since I was not around. How
sweet that was of her, and she does pretty good photography too.

Fog, January 2010 |
January 29th, 2010 |
When we woke up this morning the valley was like a huge bowl of milk. Then the fog
started to lift, revealing just the tops of the trees. For 45 minutes we got to watch this
amazing sight while having breakfast. It was so beautiful to watch!

Earthquake Retrofitting 2009/2010 |
January 29th, 2010 |
I've been working under our house to do some earthquake retrofitting. We have a tall
area under our house - large enough for me to stand in. So we have a lot of posts and cripple
walls. I've been putting up plywood to strengthen the cripple walls, and t-brackets to hold
the posts in place.
I'm also building some retaining walls to help build up the support for three of the posts
- these were originally built on the side of a steep slope.

Gualala December 2009 |
December 30th, 2009 |
A few days in Gualala, in Mendocino County, while a winter storm created large
waves. We got to see the sandbar blocking the Gualala River from the ocean open and
close several times. The number of birds was amazing!
